All dressed up with no suit party to go to.

Not all blog entries for BCorTM come out as easily as the reader may expect... Behind all the lists, over-punctuation and Simmo-related humour is just a young (arguably post-adolescent, yet no chances of growing a beard/going to a bucks night/buying a house in Kellyville has presented itself as yet) man. Did get a suit though.

Questions for the week:
1."Good Australian sketch comedy." Oxymoron? Discuss with reference to The Wedge, The Late Shift, The Big Bite, SkitHouse and Comedy Inc.
2. "If you knew you looked like that with shorter hair, why did you spend so long looking like you did with long hair."
- Spoken to me by a regular customer at my workplace. The ideal response would have been... "Have you ever thought what it would be like if you weren't an alcoholic arsehole with no mates? It really is nice waking up around 5 days a week without a hangover."
Real response: (polite smile) "... $12.20 thanks."
3. "The American incarnation of The Office. Rubbish or just misunderstood?" Discuss.
4. "Having a personal relationship with Christ... Seems a little gay doesn't it?" - Larry David
5."How was Cargo?" - posed to Brad by me this morning.
Response: "It was good... Really good. Goonbag picked up... Twice."

I don't understand. Which of the five postings are to be examined at the end of the blogging semester? Which statistical test should I use to examine Goonbag's hit rate at Cargo (r)? Is a loosely-relevant anti-American rant all that is required for question 3? Should I discuss the role of the mother in a young man's fashion life for posting 2? I already have an answer prepared for 1, which I will turn in early for extra credit: To be disappointed by the standard of Australian sketch comedy is to believe in a world where sketch comedy is funny. Seriously. Look back at the "Golden Years"- Full Frontal, Fast Forward, Big Girl's Blouse etc- and you will find that now you are post-adolescent, or even just post-pre-adolescent, they were not that funny. Point out to me one funny, or for that matter original, sketch show from any country in the history of television. (footnote: I'm not including Monty Python's Flying Circus in this analysis, it was a whole movement, not a sketch comedy). Word count: Blog length blog comment.

PS- I assume if you were charging said wanker Albert's patron $12.20, he must have ordered two middies of domestic beer... Fucking North Sydney price gouging. For the record, two bourbon and cokes and a schooner of Carlton cost me $12.40 and the Hornsby "World of Entertainment" RSL last week

I watched the same stellar lineup of late night tv as you, was relishing the quiz-free charm of a sunday night.
My band 6 response to the question you pose would conclude that while the American The Office has really hit its stride and the steve carrell character is really good, essentially i do feel a touch of the dejavu's about the whole experience. Like really, I can't believe they even bothered.
My supplementary texts would be dangerous liasons/cruel intentions.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with stephen on that one. With regular screenings of full frontal on the comedy channel I have come to the conclusion that eric bana's interpretation of ray martin is a timeless piece of comedy gold, not to mention Shaun Mcallif's "David Megan's world" and the team from Australia's national nightly network news. Maybe you guys don't get foxtel out in the sticks, but i think next time you make such rash allegations you should head to civilisation first for some research.
